Members of CDAA enjoy the following benefits:

  • Member pricing on MCLE-accredited training conducted by experienced prosecutors and other criminal justice professionals presented at convenient destination seminars.
  • Exclusive access to CDAA's Webinars On Demand Library featuring approximately 200 webinars that can be viewed for self-study MCLE credit.
  • Written by prosecutors for prosecutors, CDAA publications provide insightful analysis and proven practices from seasoned litigators. Publications include the quarterly journal Prosecutor’s Brief; comprehensive trial practice materials such as Search Warrants Law & Practice, Guilty Plea Handbook, Investigation and Prosecution of Domestic Violence, and the Evidence Pocketbook; and charging guides, reference materials, and case compendiums that can be downloaded from the CDAA website.
  • Participation in CDAA's online communities, Sidebars. Sidebars communities specific to prosecution area of practice allow members to pose questions in the archived forum, as well as post and access shared documents such as briefs, motions, points and authorities, polices, and expert witness materials.
  • CDAA committee participation, where district attorneys and their experienced deputy district attorneys help determine the direction of CDAA’s training, publishing, and legislative functions, as well as direct amicus activity in appellate matters of particular concern to prosecutors. Committee members network at the annual summer conference and winter workshop, as well as provide mentoring and support to CDAA's online communities. 
  • Legislative advocacy on public safety issues through bill sponsoring and monitoring, participation in the state budget process, and lobbying against measures that threaten public safety. Members can track all legislation monitored by CDAA at www.cdaa.org.

Deputy District Attorney Member


Attorneys employed in the office of a District Attorney or a City Attorney principally engaged in the prosecution of criminal cases, or any deputy employed in the office of the California Attorney General. Dues: $225

Auxiliary Member


Paraprofessionals (i.e., administrators, victim advocates, paralegals, investigators) in the office of any District Attorney or City Attorney or Family Justice Center. Also, subject to Board approval, attorneys and paraprofessionals employed by organizations that provide victim services or are actively engaged in appellate advocacy advancing the interests of victims are also eligible for Auxiliary membership. Dues: $110

Special Category Member


All persons who are ex-District Attorneys or ex-City Attorneys formerly engaged principally in the prosecution of criminal cases, ex-deputies District Attorney, ex-deputies City Attorney or ex-deputies Attorney General. Dues: $55

U.S. Attorney/Judge Advocate General


United States Attorneys, State Inspectors General and Judge Advocates General. Dues: $1,540

Associate Member


Attorneys employed in any office of a United States Attorney located in California, or any office of a military Judge Advocate General located in California, a State Inspector General, or any office of a California state agency engaged in regulatory activities involving civil or criminal enforcement; law clerks employed in the office of the Attorney General, United States Attorney, State Inspector General, Judge Advocate General or any District Attorney or City Attorney; faculty directly connected with courses on criminal law or administration of justice at California colleges and university; peace officers; and victim-witness employees of any District Attorney. Dues: $55
