Pediatric Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Training

Pediatric Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Training
This program is sponsored by the California Clinical Forensic Medical Training Center in conjunction with our training partner, the California District Attorneys Association.  This Basic Pediatric SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) training program focuses on the fundamental forensic medical examination procedures and techniques for performing both acute and non-acute examinations for children under age 12 and young adolescents.  There are two statutorily mandated forms in California for this age group – Cal OES 2-930 (acute examinations with recent disclosure) and Cal OES 2-925 (non-acute examination for later disclosures).   This course is designed for the inexperienced examiner and teaches basic knowledge, skills and abilities.

This course provides 40 hours of training – approximately 24 hours classroom training and 16 hours online prerequisite training.  Trainees must complete 16 hours of prerequisite training prior to attendance at classroom to understand the full meaning of what is being taught.  Please click on links for the Agenda, Faculty, and Chart listing prerequisite training.  Course evaluations must be completed to receive a CCFMTC Certificate of Completion.
