Pediatric Sexual Abuse Forensic Medical Examiner Training
This program is sponsored by the California Clinical Forensic Medical Training Center in conjunction with our training partner the California District Attorneys Association. This Basic Pediatric SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) training program focuses on the fundamental forensic medical examination procedures and techniques for pediatric victims of sexual assault. Using the Cal OES 2-930 Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Report Form - the state mandated form required for use in California and the California Medical Protocol for Examination of Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Victims. This course is designed for the inexperienced examiner and teaches basic knowledge, skills and abilities. See Pre-Requisites Below.  The Pediatric SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners) Training includes three (3) days or (20.25) hours of classroom training, fourteen (14) hours online training delivered through the University of California, Davis (UCD) Extension Program, and six (6) hours of online training by watching 2.75 hours of webinars and 4.5 hours of videos produced by CCFMTC for a total of 41.5 contact hours. The online program through UC Davis Extension Program covers child sexual abuse epidemiology, mandated child abuse reporting requirements, service delivery models, developmental anogenital anatomy, use of the California Cal OES 2-925 Forensic Medical Report Form (for non-acute exams performed over 72 hours since the last incident) and Cal OES 2-930 Forensic Medical Report Form (for acute exams performed within 72 hours of the last incident). These forms, instructions and protocol can be downloaded from the CCFMTC website. Classroom training covers patient history taking, examining prepubertal children and adolescents, physical findings and their significance, documentation and conclusions, and are full day of interactive skill stations.

Parking

Self-parking  is free of charge at the hotel.
Parking at the City Hall garage (across the street from our office is $1.50 per hour / $20.00 daily maximum charge.

The closest parking lot is a City Lot across the street from CDAA. The daily rate is approximately $20. There are nearby lots with Early Bird Rates.  The lot behind our building on J Street has an Early Bird rate of $10 all day.  If you are flying into Sacramento International Airport, Super Shuttle is available for approximately $14 per person each way. In order to guarantee service, you must make shuttle reservations. Call (800) BLUEVAN or visitwww.supershuttle.com. Cabs, Lyft, and Uber are also available.
 

Cancellation Policies

A full refund of training registration can be given if cancellation is received 14 days before the first day of training. If the course is cancelled by CCFMTC, attendees will be notified by email and telephone at the email address and phone number provided at the time of registration, and registration fees will be refunded to participants.  No refund will be given if the attendee fails to contact CCFMTC prior to the start of any training.
