Closing the Gap on Elder Abuse
This one day TUITION FREE training is co-sponsored by the California Association for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR). This multi-disciplinary course is designed for prosecutors, law enforcement, investigators, civil attorneys, victim service providers, first responders - including Adult Protective Services (APS), Long Term Care Ombudsmen and legal service providers who work directly with older adults to help prevent elder abuse fraud. This training was made possible by a grant from the California Office of Emergency Services.

. If approved your scholarship will cover
based on the least expensive and most direct route (per the State Board of Control) i.e. air vs. mileage,
include breakfast, lunch and dinner and reimbursed at the state per diem (receipts are not required),
if you work more than 50 miles (or one hour due to traffic) from seminar site. You may receive reimbursement up to the state rate for lodging the night before the seminar begins (state rate for Santa Barbara County is $90). If you live or work in the same county or city you may not be approved for overnight lodging. You must be registered for the training in order to be approved for a scholarship. This is a reimbursement scholarship, you must first incur the expenses and submit reimbursement form after the seminar (form will be emailed upon approval).
