Investigation & Prosecution of Strangulation Cases

Investigation & Prosecution of Strangulation Cases
This one-and-a-half-day seminar created for beginning to advanced-level prosecutors features a national physician, a domestic violence detective, and a strangulation prosecution expert. Seminar topics will include a comprehensive presentation on the medical aspects of strangulation, highlighting the areas every prosecutor needs to understand to craft an intelligent direct examination of the prosecution’s medical expert, to successfully cross examine a defense expert, and to rebut defenses successfully. Attendees will learn about the investigation of strangulation cases and most common defenses—such as auto-erotic asphyxiation, self-inflicted strangulation, and accidental strangulation—and how to deal with them. The expert instructors will offer suggested direct exam questions and their favorite cross examination questions and answers.
