Elder Forensics:  Over Grandma's Dead Body
This class will provide an overview of the investigation and prosecution of elder abuse and neglect cases from a forensic evidence perspective. Topics include using medical records as a forensic resource, common abuse and neglect forensic markers, choosing an appropriate forensic expert, and forensic photography and the role of elder abuse forensic centers.  A discussion of death certificates, “DNRs” and similar directives, hospice and palliative care issues will also be presented by Jennifer Euler, Supervising Deputy Attorney General, California Department of Justice, BMFEA and Amanda Martin, RN, Esq., Assistant CEO, CDAA.
