  • Participation in CDAA's online communities, Sidebars. Sidebars communities specific to prosecution area of practice allow members to pose questions in the archived forum, as well as post and access shared documents such as briefs, motions, points and authorities, polices, and expert witness materials.
  • CDAA committee participation, where district attorneys and their experienced deputy district attorneys help determine the direction of CDAA’s training, publishing, and legislative functions, as well as direct amicus activity in appellate matters of particular concern to prosecutors. Committee members network at the annual summer conference and winter workshop, as well as provide mentoring and support to CDAA's online communities.

  • Attorneys employed in the office of a District Attorney or a City Attorney principally engaged in the prosecution of criminal cases
  • Attorneys employed in the office of the California Attorney General

Auxiliary Member

  • Paraprofessionals (i.e., administrators, victim advocates, paralegals, investigators) in the office of any District Attorney or City Attorney or Family Justice Center
  • Attorneys and paraprofessionals employed by organizations that provide victim services or are actively engaged in appellate advocacy advancing the interests of victims (subject to Board approval)

  • Former prosecutors (elected and non-elected) who were formerly engaged principally in the prosecution of criminal cases

Associate Member

  • Attorneys employed in any office of a United States Attorney located in California, or any office of a military Judge Advocate General located in California, a State Inspector General, or any office of a California state agency engaged in regulatory activities involving civil or criminal enforcement
  • Law clerks employed in the office of the Attorney General, United States Attorney, State Inspector General, Judge Advocate General or any District Attorney or City Attorney
  • Faculty directly connected with courses on criminal law or administration of justice at California colleges and university
  • Victim advocates not employed by a California District Attorney's office
  • Peace officers
